  • An open oval for community / club use
  • An all-abilities playground
  • An outdoor basketball 1/2 court
  • A skate zone
  • An enclosed dog exercise park
  • A restaurant / café / function space called Carnaby’s with a focus on local produce

Plans are also in place to activate the area with fantastic community activities such as school holiday programs, early morning yoga or outdoor cinemas.

Construction has been underway for 17 months and the park has been developed in partnership with the Town of East Fremantle, the Western Australian State Government, East Fremantle Football Club, the East Fremantle Bowls Club, the East Fremantle Croquet Club and with funding from Lotterywest.

Local mum, Lindy is excited about what the park has to offer, in particular the cafe and playground.

“The venue looks amazing, and I love the idea of knowing that there is a place to meet friends locally, a place to eat and space for the kids to play and run around.  East Fremantle is a close-knit community and now we have the perfect place to meet.”

Town of East Fremantle Mayor Jim O’Neill said the park delivers on the Town’s exciting and inclusive vision to provide an integrated community, sport, and leisure precinct for the use of all residents and visitors to the Town.

“Encouraging and supporting healthy lifestyles by providing healthy places and spaces is at the heart of our vision for the park,” Mayor O’Neill said.

“We’ve created a central community hub focused on connecting the community to physical and social activities, whether it be a social catch up with friends for lunch or to watch a game, becoming a member of the leisure club or simply enjoying the grounds walking the dog.

“We hope that East Fremantle residents and community groups will call this facility ‘home’ with a meeting place focus.”

The health club, B Active, will live up to its name and promises to get more of the community active and moving more, helping everyone find at least 30 minutes of activity in their day, five times a week.

The facility will boast amenities and services to cater to its diverse clientele, including state-of-the-art gym equipment such as cardio machines, free weights and functional and resistance training. Also on offer will be Reformer Pilates, group exercise, a cycle studio and small group functional training through their Connect30 program. B Active Foundation Memberships are selling now with the start-up fee waived and giving the first premium members a discounted rate.

Managed by Belgravia Leisure – Australia and New Zealand’s leading aquatic, leisure, tourism and wellness management specialist with over 30 years’ experience in the industry – a focus on inclusivity and fostering a sense of belonging and well-being will ensure this facility will thrive as a community hub.
