Community unites to celebrate East Fremantle Community Park

After much anticipation, East Fremantle Community Park is now almost all open to the public, with hundreds of residents flocking to the park on Thursday 9th for a day of festivities, freebies and fun.

From 7am – 7pm, East Freo Community Park was buzzing with excitement with the brand-new B Active Health Club, Skate Zone, Half basketball court, bowls, croquet and Carnaby’s Café all on show.

The opening day proved to be a hit with the community who were out in force to enjoy free tastings, tours and a DJ in the health club, free exercise classes and even free chair massages and spinal checks.

Reveling in the fun was Rohan Gunton, WA Belgravia Leisure State Manager.

“I’m absolutely delighted that the facilities of this park are finally open to the public after a lot of hard work by our dedicated team. This project has been in progress for 18 months and to witness the community finally enjoying all that the park has to offer is definitely something else.

“I would like to thank the Town of East Fremantle, the State Government, East Fremantle Football Club, East Fremantle Bowls Club, and Croquet Club, as well as Lotterywest for their support and funding.

“Additionally, I would like to thank all the team at Belgravia Leisure for the hard work to prepare the venue for opening – all of whom have been instrumental in bringing this project to life. We are now so excited to begin our journey in ensuring that this park thrives as an inclusive hub which caters to a diverse clientele”.

East Fremantle resident and mum Lindy already loves the park.

“The venue is amazing, and I love the idea of knowing that there is a place to catch up with friends locally, a place to eat and space for the kids to play and run around.  East Fremantle is a close-knit community and now we have the perfect place to meet.”

There is quite literally something for everyone at the state-of-the-art facilities which have been developed with the community in mind, encouraging movement and activity for all ages with the following features:
