WAFL Finals bring 5,800 fans back to East Fremantle Community Park
East Fremantle Community Park (EFCP) came alive with over 5,800 footy fans recently as WAFL finals returned to Shark Park (Good Grocer Park) for the first time since 2022.
Glen Mcculloch, Venue Manager at East Fremantle Community Park, said:
“The highlight wasn’t just the fantastic finals footy on display. It was seeing families and children all lined up along the grassy banks, rallying behind the East Fremantle Sharks on their home ground. The crowd enjoyed the bustling atmosphere and a big day out at the sporting precinct.”
Spectators enjoyed food trucks thanks to a season-long collaboration with The Good Grocer, bouncy castles and family-friendly entertainment.
Sullivan’s Logistics Sports Deck provided a premium game-day viewing experience and a liquor licensed area was introduced in the dog park for the first time, creating an inclusive experience for the whole community.
Sharks star Cam Eardley said: “It’s got a really good feel, [Shark Park], the community aspect of it, the nearly carnival-like atmosphere in front of the grandstand.”
Glen continued, proudly thanking all who contributed to the landmark event.
“It was a wonderful showcase of how sport, families and the broader community come together at EFCP. A huge thanks to the Sharks, WAFL, our partners and our dedicated team who made the day possible.”
The park, which features the Belgravia Leisure managed B Active Health Club and Carnaby’s Bar & Restaurant is host to numerous sporting, family and community events this year, open to people of all ages.
